Medicover has launched a unit dedicated to healthcare innovation and collaboration with startups – Health Innovators by Medicover. It is a team whose mission is to implement innovative medical projects. As part of the project the company wants to build a community of innovators - made up of startups, patients and employees - and thus speed up the implementation of new solutions.
Health Innovators is another step towards speeding up innovation. As part of the project we want to build a startup community to help us better test, find, and implement new solutions. In managing the innovation process, both external specialists and innovators are key, as well as our staff and medical personnel, who get a lot of ideas from their daily work.
John Stubbington, CEO of Medicover Healthcare Services
By testing innovations and new technologies only within the organisation, we find that lack of time is an issue for employees, because current operational objectives are a priority. In creating a separate unit we went one step further. New solutions are implemented more effectively. We want to quickly test a new solution and know if it is working.
Maciej Malenda, Director of International Development and Innovation at Medicover
Innovation also means simple solutions
Every success of the project is possible thanks to the experience of implementing solutions in the field of digitization and modern technologies, the awareness of the need to invest in innovations, and the company’s management supporting the startup approach to the decision-making process. Anyone can be an innovator: a doctor, a director, a specialist, a patient. It's the person who says ‘this can be done differently’. Ideas that have the potential to significantly influence the organisation, the company’s turnover and quality of patient care are often simple solutions. Their effectiveness lies in the correct diagnosis of the problem or noticing an important need.
Piotr Nowacki, Director of New Business and Innovation.
